Go Inspire Go (GIG) is a [501(c)(3) non-profit] social enterprise video-based website that inspires you to "Discover and Use Your Power to Help Others." We create inspirational videos featuring regular people who use their talents and resources to better their community. We distribute our stories using social media to encourage sharing and inspire people to become civically engaged. At the end of every GIG video, there's a call to action with information on how you can make a difference.
We're inviting YOU and your community (school, organization, friends, etc.) to use your passion and creativity to produce a "GIG Spark" and inspire viewers with your story. This is for anyone who can shoot and edit short videos.
WHAT: USE TECHNOLOGY AS LESSON on COMPASSION
A "GIG Spark" is a short 1-1:30 minute video that inspires viewers to take action and help others after they've watched the video. The video will feature you showing and telling viewers what you want them to do and show it on video. It's simple, quick and can generate inspiration for others! The goal: a fun, easy way to inspire action.
Tip: Target a problem in your community that you'd like to see change, show us an action with your GIG SPARK video that you'd like to inspire others to do. The change starts with you.
WHERE: Use this as a teaching and communications tool in your networks or platform: your school, classroom, or organization, in your home, anywhere where you can spark some creativity and inspiration – then share it on our platforms to be seen around the world. Your video (select videos) may also appear on several platforms: Go Inspire Go, Youth Service America (YSA), Lil' MDGs, Miley Cyrus' "Get Ur Good On," The Huffington Post and Deepak Chopra's Intent.com.
WHY: Inspiration can be fun and infectious! We believe in the power of small acts and using technology to crowdsource ideas, capture it on video, spread the word online, and inspire immediate action. We know that people (especially youth) care and want to do something good for others, but just don't know how. So why not teach compassion to kids and adults in your life? This is a quick way for you to use your power to spark civic engagement and inspire a small ripple of kindness that will create a domino effect…
We can't wait to see inspiring acts popping up all over the state, country, and world!
